A Little about Tattered Inspirations

Tattered Inspirations is a little business which aims to provide products with a vintage heart to use in your crafts - be it scrapbooking, card making or other crafty pursuits.

The Tattered Inspirations shop is here
Tattered Inspirations

Markets - we will keep you informed as we have no idea when we will be able ot go to the Old Bus Depot due to their rennovations. once I know I will pop it here :)

The business is only tiny and is not in any way out to make lots of money but rather to offer products to compliment the usual supplies available by big companies.

The Design Team Rachel Walsh, Belinda Comerford, Kathy Marchant, Daniella Tassone and Suzie Lowe creatively use the products to show people what can be done - and I treasure their input and design work immensly.

Thank you for dropping by, we aim to encourage and inspire you to do something different out of your comfort zone, in new and exciting ways.

Newsletter is Out!! And some gorgeous designs by Rachel

The Feb edition is now out of 'A Little Tattered' - if you subscribe it is in your email box - if you don't and would like to the detail are in the side bar! It is free, newsy and showcases products, designs and some inspiration!

Now Rachel has worked her magic with the 'Peaches and Cream' kit and I had to show you - Rachel often finds lots of ways to use the products and can make a kit really work for her in a number of ways - you could say she has been really thrifty with the kit!! There is just one left in the store - so be quick....

So using the kit 'Peaches and Cream'

Firstly a handbag
Rachel has made this into a money box that she is using for saving for the LSBS retreat in August

Another view
Rachel has used the seam binding (included in the kit) in a wonderfully interesting way

A superb card for a baby girl

And a frame

All these items from a kit costing around $8.00 .... just goes to show how much there is in a kit if you want to use it in different ways. I also love that Rachel has used the backing sheet in the card in the left hand top corner.... I put a lot of effort in making the backing sheet into pieces you can use too - they are acid and lignin free.....

So I would love to see what you get up to with the kits and don't forget the great competition in this months newsletter.....

Above all - have fun!

Lots of love
Carol

Burlesque Beauties Kit launch on Saturday

There is something wonderful happening on Saturday - which I am very excited about!! The launch of Burlesque Beauties....

I made this kit a little while ago when I was looking for some black lace..... and found not only this superb lace but also a black, red and gold braid (from Turkey)

I knew a new movie was to be released in the new year and what an opportunity to have some fun and create a really different type of kit to play with!

I love it - it is bold, it is sassy, it is fun and it is definitely Burlesque!!

The flower
Think organza, sequins, feathers and red satin!

Designs by the Design Team will be up on Saturday too..... and they have not disappointed us! They are WOW and definitely have the X Factor......

2 new mini kits

I have been working hard with my vintage laces and ephemera lately to bring two mini kits that I am pretty sure that you will love :)

Rendezvous at the Seaside
With the Rendezvous Kits I write a little story to set the scene (and just because I am a bit of a romantic I guess)

Here is the story.....He had been at sea for over 6 years, but she had waited for his return. Before he left he gave her his grandmothers old pearl brooch which she had sewn safely onto a pale blue satin ribbon and wore it near her heart. Her little dog 'Yorkie' was with her the day his ship pulled into the harbour. Yorkie also had a lovely blue bow around his collar. There was nothing left to say when he saw her, and started running up the beach to where she sat waiting. 6 years was a long time, but it was over and a new start was about to begin......

Yorkie
Lady in Red
The gorgeous picture of a very famous Italian opera singer Lina Caverli (from a favourite site I visit - the Graphics Fairy) really had me thinking about this lady in red. How different it was back then to now.... How different she would find things!

Printed cotton ribbon and hat pin

What a day - I did well to get that all up

Don't forget - Burlesque Beauties is up on Saturday ... I will pop up a few sneak peeks tomorrow

Plus there will be a few mini kits coming soon and the "A Little Tattered" newsletter will be out for the weekend too

There is a competition that you will not want to miss......

Lots of love til tomorrow and the sneak peeks

Millefiori Hat Pins (Sets of 5)

Well I have loaded these unique hat pins now into Etsy - they are different and suit so many types of crafts and layouts..... They suit masculine and feminine layouts and those of all ages too - they are bright and fun, and will add zing to your page, card or craft item....

From primary colours to the pastels, blacks and white - I have taken the names of some old songs and had fun naming them too... although the choice of songs really shows my age!!

I think you will love these unique little Millefiori beads (meaning little flowers) - they truly are a work of art

I was so happy with these that I have ordered some more beads .... they look fabulous in real life - the photos don't so them justice.

They come packed in a little bit of fabric, with a vintage cotton broiderie anglaise insert and tied with a ribbon

Now to load the new Rendezvous at the Seaside Kit and Lady in Red..... please note that stocks of these kits are limited - I like for you to be able to have something different and theirefore don't make many of most kits ....so if you love it grab it - I will only make these particular kits this time..... and then I move on :)

Lots of love
