A Little about Tattered Inspirations

Tattered Inspirations is a little business which aims to provide products with a vintage heart to use in your crafts - be it scrapbooking, card making or other crafty pursuits.

The Tattered Inspirations shop is here
Tattered Inspirations

Markets - we will keep you informed as we have no idea when we will be able ot go to the Old Bus Depot due to their rennovations. once I know I will pop it here :)

The business is only tiny and is not in any way out to make lots of money but rather to offer products to compliment the usual supplies available by big companies.

The Design Team Rachel Walsh, Belinda Comerford, Kathy Marchant, Daniella Tassone and Suzie Lowe creatively use the products to show people what can be done - and I treasure their input and design work immensly.

Thank you for dropping by, we aim to encourage and inspire you to do something different out of your comfort zone, in new and exciting ways.

The process

There is a fair bit of process involved in making these canvases and here are a few steps at the beginning..... I then of course got carries away and forgot to take any more photos until I was finished

Step one
Draw the outlines of the areas and block the canvas with - in this case Jo Sonja's sky blue which I quite like

Step two
Add other colours while the paint is still wet I am adding here Red Violet and Smoked Pearl

Step three
Stencil on patterns - I did this with Glimmer mist (which doesn't like the varnish I added later :( ) so I won't be using those together again

Step four
Step three apply papers with Golden Gel Medium to the areas - in this case the leaves

Add bits of interest like this key

Then I work with a variety of mediums, stencils, paint , and add lots of elements (I like to call them surprises), shading as I go..... plus the ubiquitous bubble wrap - which I was actually trying to avoid - but it actually held it all together........

I will try to do these steps later on again for something else...........

Cheers
C
