My Mixed Media classes with Rebecca Vavic at CIT Canberra have finished but they have whetted my appetite for more to come.... I only hope I wasn't too much of a pain Rebecca in the class! If I was - sorry honey.....
I loved learning new techniques and want to do some big canvases very soon.... with words - love words on canvases.... and a fair bit of humour too...... can't take life too seriously .......
So here are a few of my creations.....
I love this piece it is about mothers and daughters and the unbreakable bond we have. I feel that with Jessica, she is forthright, delightful, and her own person. Yet at 27 the bond we have is very tangible and I hope will always be!!

I have to confess that I found this a bit difficult. Not the faces but more that I am not sure I really like this..... but I tried a few new things - crackle, beeswax finish and some shading (back to floating colour - and folk art painting days)..... I do like those wings.

Isn't this cute..... it says....
Love is a gentle touch when the world is too busy to take the time.
I thought these little elephants were so sweet

I sort of like the irreverent humour in this - the dogs are from a card and I love the look on Biff's face as he sees an angel. I just thought it was a funny take!
This was rather fun - I am loving using my scrapping supplies to create onto mixed media pieces... they blend so well together.

Thanks for visiting mine, too, because it has led me to yours. It seems to me that when bloggers have more than a couple of blogs a lot of their work goes unnoticed because people simply don't find it. Can't believe that there is all this beautiful work here with only one comment. I will watch out for you in the future. (From fellow Aussie, Marie, in Perth).
ReplyDeleteYour doing great - you're so talented - love the one about the little boy with the bat and ball - it so reminds me of Corey...Melxx
