I painted and created until late afternoon and I finished 2 paintings and completed the redo of the other one.......
What a wonderful day of creativity (and now doesn't my creative space need a thorough clean up!!)
But before I get my cleaning rags ready here they are!
Moonrise over St Mary's (Tasmania)

I love the way the reflections light up the countryside and then glow out to see beyond.
It is for a wedding present for someone who loves purple above any other colour and as you know it isn't easy to do purple in landscapes so much..... so when I came across a photo of this sunset I took in Tassie - I thought of her!
Now I have the pleasure of knowing that I can enjoy it until her wedding!
Misty Blue

I am not sure that the photo does it justice, there is so much mystery in the background it is misty blues and greys and lots of texture - loving garnet paste at the moment !!
So much fun to do
Glow over the Bungles Bungles
Ever done something you were really not happy with?????
Well this is one of 'those'
It is a hard piece - and it didn't have the impact I thought it could..... the colours were off, the cones looked as though they were too smooth and it just felt odd.
Before

This is a growing thing isn't it - I am getting better every month - and Thank You for your support as I keep going on this mixed media journey
With Love

Hey Carol! Another fellow flying lessons student here and Aussie too! Wow - just love what you did on the re-work of the Bungle painting. I spent two years in Halls Creek which is just down the road from there. You really managed to capture that raw rough texture of the beehive so well - and I especially like how the richness of the oxides jumps out now - just like they do IRL - beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCarol,
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog. I was thrilled to see that you live in Canberra. We lived there for two years (2005-2007) while my husband was on an exchange tour with the Australian Navy. We dearly loved in Oz and want to come back!! I am in America now, but Australia will always be very special to me.
Your artwork is gorgeous! I love that I recognize The Three Sisters and the Bungle Bungles. I think this is the best part of Kelly's e-course. Meeting such wonderful people from all over the world!

Absolutely stunning paintings. I love the first one... I hope you don't mind but I would like to put this up on my blog as a reference to what I found from browsing the blogs in the blog hop. Please let me know if you do not want me to do so. You are very talented.
