These remind me so much of my cake decorating days - I kid you not!!

They are so sweet and beautiful flowers, beads. leaves, and vintage and new flowers... all wired together and bound with florist tape

I love them - and the reaction - is pretty positive too!! I certainly will be making lots more as they are selling well

Seam Binding and Hat Pins

These have to be some of my best sellers - once you become addicted to seam binding it does not let you go....

why?? It is shimmery, verigated and scrunched, soft and works well with all sorts of layouts and applications..... from heritage, to shabby chic, to baby to grownups - there are a huge range of colours and so many applications

You can use it to ....

Tie into gorgeous bows... big and small
Use on tags
gather and stick ont the page
Use to tie things together - such as mini albums
platt together
Make ribbon roses

And Hat Pins .... these beauties are just so beautiful - I ensure they are excellent quality as I buy my beads and findings fomr all over the world and use only the highest quality beads in glass, a small amount of plastic and metal. The quality is just outstanding and they are made to add a real zing to your page, card or as a wearable item.

I use in my hat pins:

Faceted glass and crystal beads
metal fings such as bead tops, spacers and accent beads
Diachrondric glass
Glass based pearls
Freshwater pearls
Cats eye beads
Rondels and coronets
charms such as butterflies, hearts and flowers

There are other hat pins available so look for the quality and clarity that your work deserves. Certainly I could produce hat pins more cheaply if I used plastic materials but I feel the quality is what makes Tattered Inspirations Hat Pins stand out fromt eh rest... :)

I was away and I created

I have been having a great time getting creative again and putting more kits together ...... I am hoping for some more today too!!

Hi everyone

I am back and firstly I thank you for your amazing support over hte past few weeks. I am not sure if everyone knows but I lost my Dad and Mum in the space of 10 weeks. Mum passed away on the 12th October... she was so very ill and I am sure my Dad was waiting for her. Until she passed away she was surrounded by family and knew she was totally loved.

We are very blessed to have had such awesome parents and while I step through over the weeks your support has, and will, sustain me. Thanks so very very much.

lots of hatpins and vintage tiles back in stock

I have been busy lately putting these gorgeous embellishments together and love the effect.
With the vintage tiles there is enough to keep everyone happy - birds, movie stars, art nouvea, fairies everything else. So lovely and so very useful.... use them on cards, on layouts or anything else you can think of..... I have more to load too in the week to come.... more William Morris, words, sentiments and flowers.

This was from a layout I did with the words set of tiles

It is hard to see but I put them on pop dots to give dimension and they look great on a heritage page

I have also been adding some lovely stamped findings to the packs too - so now many round tiles come with metal frames so you can choose your favourite and pop that one in the frame - easy as!

Just pop in your favourite tile and secure with a glue dot - easy as!

Art Nouveau flowers and gorgeous resin flowers on stamped findings..... so pretty

And hat pins are now back in stock too - As many of you know I went to LSBS Retreat last weekend and made lots of hat pins because it just felt right to do that! I really do love making them - and I only use really good beading and jewelry findings.... most of my pearls and beads are actually glass - they give a great depth of colour and a radiance not found in other suppliers.

Recently I found some great findings in gold so now we have Midas, Eldorado and Ebony and Ivory added to the mix. These look wonderful on a page and add a touch of elegance.

Tomorrow I will use my darling husbands SLR and photograph 2 more kits - these are great!!!... Deb and Bec did a wonderful job with their layouts in the post below with these kits - so I will load them in the shop tomorrow...... I think you will love them

Lastly I want to say thanks you to Scrapbooking delights for stockign my goodies now for their ladies. I do hope that they will go well for you ..... and will order again.

As many of you know every year I go to LSBS Retreat near Sydney. I go with my gorgeous friends Kristin and Jenny and I spend 4 glorious days scrapping my heart out! This year I taught a class and then I enjoyed being part of the shenanigans and fun that makes up the retreat.

I was thankful this year that Cath allowed me to pop some of my goodies in the shop and I was even happier when they sold like hot cakes. So thanks to Cath and Nic for everything - I loved it (and my credit card is not just a little less healthy because of it)

Rachel was in the shop (again) so this is Me and Michelle

I have also been thinking too about the amazing people that my fellow scrappers are ...... we hug, and laugh, and cry together over life, our memories and our families. These girls are so special in my life..... they are the ones who supported me when my Dad died recently, who sent me a wonderful package, who support me in so many ways they cannot be counted.

I know their names, their children, their hopes and dreams, their challenges and their friends through our conversations, and sitting with them as they tell me their stories. What they do is colour my world. So I want to say thank you to you ladies, who support and love me, cry and laugh with me and share my joys and my pain. Okay I have been stocking up with the LSBS retreat coming up and a splashy advert in the new Etcetera Magazine - so here are the new kits .... I have had fun!

starting to breathe again

I just wanted to pop in and say how hard it has been this last week since my Dad's passing on Sunday .... my amazing father finally passed away after beating cancer 16 years ago .... he was an amazing man

As I walk through my grief I thank you for all your support and kindness... I appreciate it very much

I thought I would share a pic and a couple of paragraphs from his eulogy.... his will be sorely missed

Forever Remembered in Our Hearts

Family has always been so important to Bill and as a father he was always involved in his children’s lives. He and Nancy always supported, loved and cherished the family relationships with their children, partners and grandchildren. A gruff exterior belied a soft and caring heart, he worried about his family, and he offered support in so many ways and wanted to be involved to the very last.

Having his family so widespread meant cherished visits to and from New Zealand with Glenn, Heather, Morgan, Riley, Kate, Jack and Zoe, holidays in Queensland with Sonya and Ross and many weekends and special occasions celebrated in Canberra with Carol, Phil, Jessica and Mathew.

Nancy has been the love of his life for over 55 years; they depended on each other for companionship, adventures and in later life supported each other through the challenges of aging. They shared a special bond and were each others soul mate and best friend. Through the journey of life they have always been there for each other and their love will last forever.

Sorry, firstly, about being off the air over the past week - I have had the flu and am only starting to feel a little human now.... at least it the bug will be truly gone for Camp Mojo - which is a relief! 97 women scrapping, creating and talking - should be a blast!
Thanks also for the well wishes for my Dad who is still in hospital - it is so hard sometimes being the only child in Canberra of 2 parents who need so much support that I sometimes feel I cannot cope with it all - but I do - and much better than this week when I have been sick too!

So I have heaps to show you and so I thought I would display Sally's beautiful work here for the Competition due on the 20th July! Here are the specs:

It is our birthday....... Number 1

It is our birthday and we are 1 year old.... what a year and how time has flown

I have a delightful Design Team - Michelle Lark and Rachel Walsh - who do such beautiful work - I am really blessed by their creativity.... and I know you are too - because you let me know

I also have such wonderful people who shop with me - even when I was starting in the early days..... wow it is amazing to see the shop now! In the beginning I had about 10 items I think now I have over 100.

This weekend we hit 1000 sales too - so isn't that awesome - I have loved showing you all my excitement as this neared. And now my room is full of lots of parcels to post (I think about 14 at last count)

So my gift to you this weekend is a pack of seam binding or bottletops with any purchase..... as a thank you for your faith in my products and that you buy form me even though I am not a 'big company' and you love to show me your creations.

So from me to you - my heartfelt thanks and appreciation for all you do to support my little business and as I sad to Sally yesterday while we still are all having fun it will be there.

Thank you ... and I wish you Happy Birthday as well!! 'Cause we did it together

And lastly the gorgeous seam binding is back - this stuff is so very popular for all sorts of reasons - it is fabulous for bows, using as ribbon, you can gather it, put it in tags,..... it is soft and seems to add to a layout without detracting from it....

lots of new kits and some old ones - are back!

Last weekend I wasn't feeling well - so while I wasn't so sick that I ended up in bed - I used the opportunity to create some new kits - well actually 19 new kits that have been in the works for a while.... and some lovely new hat pin sets as I had 2 substanital orders I had to fill!

So there I was listening to the CD player, sipping my fave teas and quietly finishing off a mountain of kits I had started to prepare in May! There is so much in creating the kits I bring to you - I thought you might like to know the process.....

Firstly there is the competempation stage..... inspiration starts to hit big time - often it is working with pictures - going through my stash or the web sites I favour, finding an awesome print of ephemera, a lovely cameo or a new lace or ribbon - even finding some die cuts.....

Next I start to design the flower, or to dye the crochet motif so it goes with the source of inspiration

Then I collect my bits and pieces.... vintage ribbons and laces, ephemera, tickets, buttons

I make the hat pins and make sure everythign goes together

I print off the cards, put the kit together inot the package so it is gorgeous. And I print the sticker for the back

Once that is all done I photograph the kit, load to Etsy and pop the kits into the shop (into some sort of order!!)

So here are some new kits - some you have seen before nad loved - others are new....plus there are a lot more to come too - once our designers have done their layout I will load them for you and pop them into the shop..... There are some really fabulous products and I am sure they will hit the mark

So pop into the shop, buy a couple and have a little fun with these... they are sweet and very good value a t $6 dollars - the cameo ones are a touch more expensive at $6.50 because of the cost of the cameo but I am sure you will agree they are worth the extra 50 cents!!

As Rachel, Michelle, Kate, Nicole and Ant use the mini kits I sent them I will load them onto Etsy with their wonderful layout too - and will tell you all about it here...... so I cannot wait to see what they do!!

NEWS FLASH!!!!!

Oh and a little bit of news - those girls going to the Scrap Girls Retreat in July will have the opportunity to buy my products from the LSBS shop ...... Cath has allowed me to supply her shop for the July Retreat - but be quick there is only one of each kit!!! And there are hat pins, And vintage seam binding - how cool is that!!

News flash.......

I have been really busy and there are heaps of kits coming very soon. Our guest designers for July will be featuring 2 kits each and we will launch all 6 in July with their work.

The July Kit is Parisian Chic and it is beautiful.... we will launch it at the end of the month and I have seen the layouts that the Design Team have done and ....... OOOOO LA LA they are certainly magnifique.

Next weekend there will be 6 new kits in the shop.... and there is something for absolutely everyone

Plus the design team is having a play with the kits in the next week and there are another 6 to get into the shop!!!

Also Scrap Therapy will be in delivery of hat pins this week so girls who shop up there..... Leanne and Danny will have stock soon .... 20 packs all colours!! Have fun!

And finally - we are starting 2 competitions again......

One will start tonight and will be a special layout using several elements.... I will be sending an email shortly to all newsletter recipients... and it will be up on facebook on the Tattered Inspirations page
Monday nights will be a competition at 8.30pm .... a fast and furious guessing game for a prize of Tattered Inspirations goodies...... sounds fun??? It is on my FB page and all ou have to do is to come by.....

I do actually get to scrap sometimes - though not always as much as I would like because the shop keeps me pretty busy but I am not complaining ....

I do have time though at retreats to scrap my little heart out and I am a kit girl from way back - I always make kits up for myself and then I find that I am not rummaging through boxes and bags trying to find this and that..... I have popped up some layouts I did recently at the Scrap Therapy Retreat on A Taste of Honey

I am sharing some of my layouts here of my work with Tattered Inspirations Kits and some bits and pieces from various kits too

Here I am in FNQ and loving it as I always do!!

Jess my gorgeous daughter came with me to spend some time in Port Douglas and she was blown away by the sightsand sounds of the region. We had an awesome time indeed.Butterfly Sanctuary, Mareeba Coffee Works, Rainforest Habitat, Kuranda, and a wonderful guided tour of the Daintree and Cape Tribulation.

Then a fabulous ScrapTherapy Retreat where I created and taught a class, met new friends and reconnected with old friends too. Such a great time!

Now hubby is up and we are in beautiful Mt Quincan enjoying the most amazing treehouse in the forest and this morning watched the brolgas in the nearby field - how awesome is that?? I will pop uplinks to this all when I get home. But needless to say I am coming here again. It is so wonderful.

All my bags are packed

Well it is that time again when my bags are packed and I am almost off to the bright and warm tropics .... to the Scrap Therapy Retreat. It is a lovely area and there is so much to explore there I seriously cannot wait. I am seriously going to have a break from creating things for the shop but scrap instead (however I will have lots to share when I return!!

Please note that the shop will be closed until the 10th June so orders will be filled on Friday then the shop will be in holiday mode. So if you need a few things - please order and pay by Paypal top receive your goodies quickly.

I have been working hard in the shop and it is going so well - lots of sales and lots of comments. I now have repeat customers - lovely people who love my work and order again and again. People I have never met and yet trust my stuff to use on their work, arriving in its little package and they let me know how much they love receiving it all.

As a little gift I have popped some seam binding in the shop in gorgeous sunset colours for just 20cents! That is 3 metres of this wonderful stuff in pinks, oranges, blues and violet. The seam binding comes with 10 cards to give out to your friends, so you can help my little shop to become better known...... and I thanks you so much. So next time you order - spend a little 20cents for an extra goodie!! smile

Here is a LO I created using the Numbers Kit. The 'Secret Bird Society' PP from Kaiser was just perfect to coordinate with this kit.

I have ordered a heap of new cameos today (so exciting - as I now have a very talented supplier and her work is completely awesome! And one of the reasons I did that is now I have completed so many new kits this last week I have run out!!!!! So that is great news for you all - more kits are coming to the shop..... so there is a lot to load this week

Bird Song - May Kit........

I know that I often find something that inspires me to make a kit or do a scrap layout - and for this one it was definitely the bird (on the backing sheet) It is from the Graphics Fairy - and awesome site which I advertise on the right side bar - her site is just wonderful!!

Well the Bird Song kit is in clear colours of aqua blue, rosy pinks and cream - with lots of vintage elements and the ephemera - is lovely!! There is even a journalling block (vintage of course)

I am refreshed and back to it

Hello one and all - I have had a lovely break in beautiful Bundanoon and I am feeling just fine!! I have been massaged, pumelled, painted with all things goey and had my toenails and finagernails 'done' plus a facial... I swam, spa'd and gym'd and ate well and often.....

So what is new here - ?????? Well I have assisted Lets Get Shabby in their votes for the winner of their competition which I will send out tomorrow with the gorgeous pack going to Scrappehuest too

All is fine here

There is a comp on Facebook for the guest designer for May - it is a beautiful kit and which will win a little package formt eh shop..... pop in and enter - you have til tomorrow night!! Pop into here

Autumn Escape 2012

Well we have a retreat girls and things are going great......

Autumn Escape will be 20th to 22nd of April 2012. And we will be working hard to bring you an awesome retreat with a difference.
What we are planning is to have lots of techniques based tutorials and workshops .... with the amount of awesome talent in the room I really don't think we need to teach you how to scrap. Michelle and Rachel have said yes to teach a workshop each - and I am so delighted!!!!

Between you and me - the vintage stuff coming in at the moment is to die for - and I cannot wait for you to see what I have......

There will definitely be competitions, sketches, prizes and give aways - and yes lots of gorgeous Tattered Inspirations Products.... I am going to be so busy creating. I am going to ask a few ladies to set the competitions - with this much talent in the room - why not ask??

But more that that I have arranged it so that you will have lots of fun in a lovely environment with no stress and great food - and a glass or 6 of whatever you like from the bar!

We have around 30 at the moment and we can go up to 40 so please book in with your deposit if you want to come - bring your friends - it is going to be great

Here are the details:
When: 3pm Friday 20th April 2012 to 4pm Sunday 22nd April 2012

Where: Gold Creek Resort in Gungahlin

Canberra Cost: $200 (please note that dinner on Friday evenings, accommodation, two breakfasts and your drinks at the bar are not included)

Accommodation: At Gold Creek Resort at your expense (sharing with some others is cheaper)

Deposit: $50 non refundable or transferable through my etsy store Tattered Inspirations

Payments: $50 installments to be paid up by end February 2012 also through my etsy store Dates will be given and reminders sent for each installment

I am so looking forward to this and hope that you will attend - Autumn is beautiful here in the mountains..... cool sunny and crisp. And the Gold Creek Village is just wonderful - lots of shops, a spa even a scrapbook shop.....

So please book in ASAP before the spots are taken

If you have ever submitted a project to magazine for publication I bet you can share with me the disappointment you feel when they send you a "thanks but no thanks" reply. Well you can you imagine my SURPRISE a couple of months ago when I received a "CONGRATULATIONS" email from the editor Kristy, to say that they loved my LO so much they were going to feature it on the FRONT COVER! Yes that's right - Scrapbooking Memories have published my LO on the April issue with a photo of my darling Goddaughter and I can't thank them enough for picking ME! Thank you to my dearest friend Lisa (aka: Vanilla) for sharing such a beautiful photo of her daughter with me and allowing it to be published for the nation to see!

Hello - aren't you pleased it is Friday? I certainly am....what a week - but I ended up in a massage for a pretty sore neck and 50 mins in a infrared sauna at 62 degrees - and that is hot !!! I feel much better though - and I think I will sleep well tonight

I have scrapped a little photo of me from April 1962, when I was living in
Lismore. I have on a dress that my visiting & dear aunty bought me, to wear

Hi everyone in blogland - I am catching my breath after an awesome weekend at beautiful Lake Crackenback for a wedding. Something abut wedding makes me so happy - the joy of it all - the love, the time to enjoy the moment .... and in the midst of the lake, birds and lots of gorgeous bushland it was perfect!!

But here I am back again and loving that I have been busy making things that I love to work with.... some mini kits that I hope you will love..... there are 5 new ones available this week!

Winter Whispers - white, pink and a touch of blue with a gorgeous drawing - you will love this one!
Parasol - from the 20s with parasol ladies and lots of citrus and creamy colours

There is so much going on here - I have taken over the dining table at the moment - I need to get a bit more organised......

Lastly I have some gorgeous cameos form the USA and they are sublime - a little more expensive but so superb - they will make a huge impact - look out for Woodland Sprite Mini Kit as I start to use my stash....... these are addictive!

Hubby is fine with it

First I knocked on the door in 2004 and altered his life

I married him in 2005

In 2006 I took him to a scrapping craft show and he walked around holding my shopping bags and encouraging me to buy things

Then I left not one but 2 jobs in under a year (and went a little 'eccentric in between') 2007 with no job to 'go to'

I began to collect bras from all around Australia for Uplift and they constantly come to the door 2008

Then I started a business on the net selling vintage scrapping kits 2010

I dyed my hair purple and lots of other colours last week! And he loves it

And now I am talking about a retreat called Autumn Escape in April 2012

And he is okay with it all...... gosh I love this guy - he just rocks with my life and revels in it!! He is definitely one of a kind

Scrapping Weekend in Canberra

Next year when I am a lady of leisure (ha) I thought it could be great to have a scrappign weekend at a resport in Canberra ....

Nearby is a scrapbook shop, a wellness spa and lots of beautiful shops (plus a patchwork shop to die for)

It is Gold Creek Tourist Resort and I thought that Tattered Inspirations would host it .... local girls could chose ot stay overnight or not..... and interstate girls - there is heaps to keep you very busy!

Anyway - pop into tattered inspiration on face book for late breaking news - I will start to look at dates etc soon....

Classes would probably include mixed media, scrapping and lots of goodies to use .... we might even have a few surprises......

Anyway I will keep thinking (I haven't broached it with DH as yet)

I've attached a photo for you of my take on Lisa's sketch.

This man is my Dad, the photo was taken in 1957, when he was about 25 years old - I don't think he'd met my Mum as yet. I've used a couple of Millefiori Hat Pins, Trims & Tickets from the Autumn Days kit, and flowers are (mostly) from the "A little bit of country" blooms kit. Not sure where the red one came from, but it's one of yours! Also used a little string from the parcel, and Pink Paislee papers.
